Good evening people of Dover and Deal,

I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Lis'Beth, and I have recently (this week!) set up my own online business selling vintage style jewellery and other accessories.

I would be most grateful if you would take some time to visit my website....

    www.kissuoffstore.co.uk

.....and check out what I currently have on offer. I will be adding some new 'one off pieces tomorrow!

Regrettably I only stock small cheap costume jewellery pieces right now (some better quality stuff going on tomorrow). This is because I have had limited start up cash like... none!), and I hope that with the support of my community making small purchases; things will grow and I will be able to stock the items I feel most passionately about.

I do believe strongly that the rings and bracelets currently on display would make brilliant little stocking fillers or tree pressies for ladies of any age who like statement jewellery. That's the lovely thing about vintage fashion, if it's worn correctly it is ageless! I have worn my own pieces out and about this week and people have commented on how nice they are! (Which is when I wish my business cards would hurry up and get here!)

I shall keep you updated both on this forum and in my online blog that can be found on the website!

Oh and gents.... this applies to you too, I'm sure you know some lovely ladies who would appreciate a sparkly gift or two ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

Good luck with your new business. I'll direct my daughters your way - both love vintage fashion so I think this will be right up their street :)

Thankyou Mandy! Let me know if they have any feedback or if there is anything in particular they need! I'm really excited about this! :)

Wishing you all the best with your online venture. Who knows, it could be an online business that grows and we could see the name "Kiss U Off" above a shop doorway in Dover!

Not sure what software your using to power the site, but I cant recommend osCommerce enough for a start up online businesses. Its free, very powerful and theres lots of different themes available online either free or for a small charge. Heres a sample of some online jewelley websites using the software. I used it when I had an online shop a few years back.

Have you thought about setting up a facebook page for Kiss U Off? A great way to help spread the word :)

Edit - Just seen you already have a facebook page!

Your stuff is nice LisBeth will buy something for my niece and my friend Mandy and her daughters. Don't wear the sparkly stuff myself but back when I was young your stuff would have been the stuff I would have worn.

Get yourself on ebay and accepting paypal, they take less of a cut than the credit cards super-powers. Your items will sell, do it soon for Xmas stocking fillers.

Or if you are on ebay already, stick the link up, much prefer paypal.

    Good luck.

Ah ha, I see you have paypal.

    Jolly good.

Thank you! I was recommended Moonfruit and built my site with that, should have done more research because it's shop facility is in beta testing and there are features it lacks. Other than that I like it, it's excellent for blogging and the 'magazine' feel I wanted. osCommerce does look good, but I'm not sure how tricky it would be to transfer? Yes, I did the Facebook page when I set up on eBay, and I'm working on linking my website to a facebook shop too. I had a few website sales today, and not from family or friends, so I'm doing something right!

I want a shop! If I had the start up cash I would run online and in a shop, I have mentally created my shop already! :)

    Thanks Tasha,

That's brilliant, please order away! As I said to Dave, I don't like eBay at the moment, it just cost's me so much to sell! I'm going to focus on the website and facebook, twitter, and linkedin and promote as hard as I can locally. I have seen some wonderful retro inspired bags and purses today and have just secured a deal with a massive hosiery retailer who sell vintage stockings and patterned tights... I'm desperate to branch out and make this huge!

You know the story of the man who sold a paperclip on eBay and bought a house? I wanna be that man! :) x

    Hi dofagirl,

osCommerce would be looking into, especially as its tried and tested bu 100s of thousands of people and very stable. Only reason im saying that is because you mention the version your using is currently in beta. I doubt there would be a converter script available for moonfruit to osCommerce, so you would have to re-add everything manually.

Certainly something to think about :)

Yes, sales are small at the moment, but if things look like they are taking off I shall move it, hopefully moonfruit will get their act together and give me some stock control in my shop!
